Wow. Those of you who made it out to ARTcade last week, thank you so much for helping us make our second showcase a huge success! This time around we were upgraded to the Crystal Ballroom at the lovely Hotel Shattuck Plaza, which was perfect because our artists turned the party out.
We had some really great musical performances. The Dime, of Richmond, came in for a surprise performance and really impressed the crowd. You’ll be able to check them out on an upcoming episode of the Variety Society, who showed our crowd some great highlights from their show, and perhaps at a future Berkeley RAW showcase! Absoluther, of Berkeley, gave a great performance and showed off his custom shoe designs. And Handshake, of Novato, proved to us why they are considered one of the best young bands in the Bay Area.
There was also two very well put together fashion shows. First up we had Jessica Gailey’s fine feather accessories. Her and her models were the epitome of class showing off their feathery finery. Then closing the show we had Bedlam Accessories. Fierce would be the one word to describe these accessories and these models. Strutting it to “Dirty Diana”, Bedlam’s custom made sunglasses made quite the impression!
Our Artists and Photographers, Davika Keskar, Selato, Joy Pompeo, Gracie Ginian, Marney Elias, and Sean Gin decorated our walls and tables with their beautiful works of art and design. Everywhere you looked it was a cascade of color and creativity!
Lastly but definitely not leastly, a big thank you to the Berkeley City College DJ Club for coming out and hooking us up with sound and music! These folks have some big futures spinning ahead of them.
Check out all our pictures from ARTcade here! (they’re also slowly being uploaded to our flickr which you can get the link for at the side of this page)
Remember, this is only showcase number two! We still have many many more showcases to come.
